Contrary to what social media might portray, Pilates is not a bunch of random exercises done on a mat (or reformer), that "shreds" your abs and "burns" your ass. If that is what you're looking for, please know that is not what I offer.

Pilates is a low-impact, bodyweight exercise program developed by the man behind the name, Joseph H. Pilates, that stretches and strengthens your whole body, not just your abs or ass. He called his work Contrology, and his original mat work consists of 34 exercises taught and practiced progressively, in order. If you want to truly know Pilates, get to know the exercises, the order, the method behind the madness. Matwork is both the Alpha and Omega of the Pilates system.

I teach Pilates with deep respect to the original exercises and order, in the spirit of the OG himself, Joseph H. Pilates. I apply a contemporary biomechanics lens, to make the work as accessible as possible, for as many bodies as possible, the way I feel Joe had intended.
