Strong Foundations Reformer-Tower

Find order in the chaos by creating a strong, flexible foundation with Joseph Pilates's original work.

In this Reformer/Tower class, you will be introduced to foundational Pilates concepts and Reformer exercises that the rest of the system builds upon: Footwork, Long and Short Box exercises, Long Stretch series, Elephant, Stomach Massage, and more. Please attend at least five Strong Foundations classes before advancing to Intermediate.

If you're experienced on the Reformer and the order, don't let the name fool you—this is your space, too, to refine the foundations and principles of your own practice. The basics become profoundly advanced by layering in principles as precision, concentration and control.

Reformer/tower classes use reformer, tower, mat and other tools for a challenging, creative, mindful movement experience. I teach all my classes with a restorative movement lens—alignment and clarity matter. I follow Joseph Pilates' original order of exercises, along with Pilates concepts of breath, centering, concentration, control, precision and flow to guide the class.
